Original One-of-a-kind Necklaces
Rita took great pride in her orignal one-of-a-kind necklaces. She was a truly gifted designer and we are delighted to showcase many of her necklaces.
Almost all of the necklaces use Rita's own design hook-and-eye sterling silver clasps, available in our CLASPS section.
For each necklace displayed in the collection, a listing of the principal components is given.
The pendant frequently provides a principal motif for the design. For example, the pendant for necklace No. 2 is
antique Tibetan shell, as are the white beads that make up the necklace strand.
Similarly, necklace No. 39 has an ancient Egyptian ivory, hand-carved pendant
with antique Egyptian ivory beads and antique Baltic amber from Sudan. Necklace No. 6 consists of antique Yemen coral, together with antique
silver pendants and beads from Egypt. Necklace No. 8 has an Asiatic motif,
using antique Tibetan coral, a carved jade bead, and antique coral, turquoise, and jade from China.
Note: In this section, we have not removed pages with SOLD necklaces. Some necklaces have only recently become available. These can be found on pages 59 through 64.
