When it came to making jewelry, necklace design was Rita's passion. She was first and foremost, a designer. Rita took great satisfaction and pride in designing necklaces using original combinations of the beads and pendants she discovered in her travels. Her use of asymmetrical design and expertise in multi-strand necklaces made her work immediately recognizable and inspired other designers worldwide.
The necklaces in this section are a mix of Rita's designs, designs by her daughters using Rita's design methods and hook and eye clasps, and necklaces that came to the collection over the years from other cultures and places around the globe.
